Best practices for logo QR codes
Keep the logo at 20% of the code width — or less
The logo sits on top of data modules. QRacade uses Level H error correction, which can rebuild up to 30% of the pattern, and we hold your logo well under that line. Bigger is not better: a smaller mark scans faster and from farther away.
Never cover the three corner eyes
The square "finder patterns" in three corners are how scanners locate and orient your code. QRacade's layout engine structurally refuses to place artwork over them — the logo only ever touches the central data area.
Mind the contrast
Dark code on a light background is the rule. Recolor freely, but keep the foreground clearly darker than the background, and leave the quiet zone (the blank margin) untouched.
Test at print size before you print
Scan a proof with at least two phones at the physical size you plan to use. Our downloads render above 1000px, sharp enough for business cards through posters.
Frequently asked questions
How do I create a QR code with a logo in the middle?
Paste your link, click Upload logo, and adjust the size slider. QRacade centers the logo over the code's data area — never over the corner finder patterns — and verifies the result with a real decoder before you download.
Does adding a logo break a QR code?
Not if it stays within the error-correction budget. QRacade generates every code with Level H error correction (30% recovery), caps the logo so covered modules stay well inside that budget, then decodes the final image to prove it.
How big can the logo be?
Keep the logo box at about 20% of the code's width or less. QRacade's slider enforces a safe range, and built-in verification confirms scannability at your chosen size.
What logo file formats can I upload?
PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP. A square logo with a transparent background looks best; simple, high-contrast marks scan more reliably than detailed artwork.
Will my logo QR code expire?
No. QRacade makes static QR codes — your destination is encoded directly in the pattern, with no account, subscription or redirect service that could expire later.
